Mona Folkesson from MSB has been in Malawi as a member of the UN Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) team. The team deployed in mid-January at the Government’s request in an effort to generate an accurate picture of the impact of the floods that have swept across the south of the country.

The nurse transported home from one of the MSB's missions in Sierra Leone due to an incident with protective equipment, does not have Ebola; this was confirmed by tests at Linköping University Hospital.

The nurse who was flown home from Sierra Leone because of an incident with personal protective equipment was during Tuesday night re-admitted to hospital due to symptoms that could indicate Ebola. It is now the medical service that will be responsible for continued handling of this incident.

On Friday 2 January, an MSB nurse in Sierra Leone was exposed and at high risk for Ebola. The nurse was transported, per routine, by air ambulance home to Sweden and Malmö. The nurse was then transferred on to the infectious diseases clinic at Skåne University Hospital in Lund for examination, which found that there were no signs of infection.
